How microneedling works
Fine sterile needles create thousands of microscopic channels at a set depth. Each one triggers the body's normal repair response: growth factors are released, fibroblasts are recruited, and new collagen and elastin are laid down over the following weeks. The channels also open a window in which serums applied on top reach far deeper than they otherwise could — which is why the treatment is usually paired with exosomes or your own plasma.
What it improves
Acne scarring, enlarged pores and general texture. Fine lines and the loss of firmness that comes before real laxity. Stretch marks on the body. It is slower than fractional CO2 and asks far less of your calendar, which for most people in this climate is the better trade — and combined with exosomes or PRP it closes much of the gap.
Session and recovery
Numbing cream for thirty minutes, then a pass of twenty to thirty minutes. Skin looks like a moderate sunburn for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, sometimes with light swelling on the first evening. Fine flaking may appear around day three. Make-up is usually fine at forty-eight hours. Results build across four to six weeks per session, and most people do three sessions spaced a month apart.

Depth is set per zone rather than run flat across the face — a cheek scar and the skin under the eye need different settings, and treating them the same is how microneedling ends up either useless or too aggressive. Safety, side effects and aftercare
What to expect
Redness like a moderate sunburn for one to two days, light swelling the first evening and occasional pinpoint bleeding during the pass itself. Fine flaking around day three. Skin feels tight and dry for a few days.
When we don't treat
Not performed over active acne infection, open lesions or cold sores in the area, during pregnancy, on recently tanned or sunburnt skin, where there is a history of keloid scarring, or while on isotretinoin.
Aftercare
No make-up, gym or pools for forty-eight hours. Strict SPF 50 for two weeks — freshly treated skin pigments easily, and here that matters more than anywhere. Gentle cleanser and generous moisturiser; hold acids and retinol for a week.

Frequently asked questions
Is it better with exosomes or PRP?
Both amplify the same repair response and both are worth it; PRP uses your own plasma, exosomes are a standardised product. The choice usually comes down to preference and budget, and Aurora will explain the trade-off rather than default to the more expensive one.
How is it different from Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 adds radiofrequency, which reaches deeper and adds a tightening effect. Classic microneedling works on texture and quality without that depth — it costs less, asks less recovery, and for pores and mild scarring it is often enough.
Can I have it on holiday?
Yes, with care. Two days of visible redness and then strict sun protection. Book it at the start of the trip and keep off direct sun, or leave it for the end.
How many sessions will I need?
Three is the usual starting point, a month apart. Deeper scarring may need more, and that is discussed honestly at the first visit rather than after session three.
