How the Hollywood Peel works
A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin and left to settle into pores and surface irregularities. The laser then passes over it: the carbon absorbs the energy and is vaporised, taking with it dead cells, excess oil and superficial debris. What it improves

Safety, side effects and aftercare
What to expect
A light pink flush for thirty to sixty minutes, similar to mild sun. Occasionally a feeling of tightness the first evening. Nothing that shows in photographs the next day.
When we don't treat
Not performed on active cold sores or open lesions in the area, on skin with an active bacterial or fungal infection, during pregnancy, on freshly tanned or sunburnt skin, or while on isotretinoin. Melasma is assessed case by case: heat can aggravate it, and Pico laser is often the better route.
Aftercare
Moisturise generously and use SPF 50 for the following week — in Tulum that means reapplying, not applying once. Skip retinol and acids for three days. No sauna, steam or direct sun on the day of treatment.

Can I do it the day before an event?
Yes — that is the main reason people book it. There is no peeling and no visible recovery, and the glow peaks around twenty-four hours after the session.
Is it safe on tanned skin?
Freshly tanned skin is not treated: the laser reads the extra melanin as a target and the risk of a burn rises. We ask for two weeks without direct tanning beforehand, which in Tulum is worth planning for.
How many sessions do I need?
One is enough for an event. For lasting control of pores and oil, a series of four to six sessions every two weeks does more than any single treatment.
Does it hurt?
No numbing cream is needed. Most people describe warmth and a light snap, like a rubber band, that stops the moment the pass ends.
