What Botox treats
Botox is a neuromodulator that relaxes the small facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles — forehead lines, frown lines between the brows and crow's feet around the eyes. At our clinic in Tulum Centro it is also used for a subtle brow lift, softening a gummy smile, slimming the jawline (masseter), neck bands, and even underarm or hand sweating (hyperhidrosis). Every area is assessed in person before anything is injected.

The four brands we work with
Not every neurotoxin behaves the same way, so we keep four certified brands in the clinic and choose per face, per area and per timeline. BOTOX® (Allergan) is the original — the reference for predictability, and the product that gave the treatment its name. Dysport diffuses slightly more and starts working sooner, which suits broad areas such as the forehead. Xeomin is a “naked” molecule with no complexing proteins: the option for patients who have built up resistance or who want the purest formulation available. Nabota, from Korea, has a clean profile and excellent value on larger muscles like the masseter or the underarms. What to expect at your appointment
Your visit starts with a facial analysis and a conversation about how you want to look. The injection itself takes about 15–20 minutes with very fine needles; most patients describe it as small pinches. There is no downtime — you can go back to the beach or dinner right after, avoiding only intense exercise, saunas and lying face-down for the first hours. First effects appear around day 3, with the full result at day 10–14.

Safety, side effects and aftercare
What to expect
Common and temporary: small red bumps at the injection points for 15–30 minutes, mild tenderness, occasionally a light bruise that make-up covers the next day. Less common: a headache in the first 48 hours, or slight asymmetry that is corrected at the two-week review.
When we don't treat
Botox is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, nor in people with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis, or with a known allergy to botulinum toxin. Active infection in the area postpones the session.
Aftercare
For 4 hours: stay upright and avoid pressing the treated area. For 24 hours: no intense exercise, sauna, steam room or facials. Sun with SPF is fine after 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions
Will I look frozen?
No. We dose conservatively and place product only where your anatomy needs it. You keep your expressions — lines simply soften.
Does it hurt?
Needles are extremely fine. Most patients feel small pinches for a few seconds per point. Numbing cream is available if you are sensitive.
Can I get Botox while on vacation in Tulum?
Yes — it is our specialty. Book at the start of your trip: there is no downtime, sun exposure with SPF is fine after 24 hours, and we follow up by WhatsApp.
