How the scan works
A sequence of calibrated photographs is taken under different light sources — standard, cross-polarised and ultraviolet among them. Each reveals a different layer: surface texture and pores in one, pigment and sun damage below the surface in another, vascular patterns in a third. Software then maps the findings and scores them, producing a record that can be repeated identically months later.
What it shows
Accumulated sun damage, including pigment that has not yet surfaced. Pore size and distribution. Wrinkle depth. Hydration levels across zones. Vascular and redness patterns. Its real value is comparative: the second scan, three or six months into a plan, is what turns an impression that things look better into a measurement of how much.
The appointment
About fifteen to twenty minutes including the review of results. Skin should arrive clean and without make-up for the images to be usable. There is nothing invasive and nothing to recover from. You leave with the map and an explanation of what it means for the plan, and if a repeat scan is worth doing, when to schedule it.

It is used as a planning and measurement tool inside a treatment plan, not as a product to sell on its own. Aurora reads the map with you and explains which findings a treatment can change and which it cannot — a distinction that a score on a screen never makes by itself. In this climate the sun-damage layer is usually the one that surprises people most.

What to expect
A series of photographs and a mapped report reviewed with you in the same appointment. Nothing touches the skin beyond the positioning rest, and there is no recovery of any kind.
What it does not do
It does not detect skin cancer and it does not replace a dermatologist. It is an aesthetic diagnostic used to plan treatment and measure progress — nothing more. Any lesion of concern, any mole that has changed, and any finding that needs a medical opinion is referred to a dermatologist for proper evaluation.
How to use it well
Its value comes from repetition under the same conditions. A single scan is a snapshot; a baseline and a repeat at three or six months tell you whether the plan is working, which is the only reason to pay for it.
